Alba PS5 - Combined Cycle Power Plant

Constructed to power Aluminium Bahrain’s (Alba) massive primary aluminum smelting operations in Askar, Alba Power Station 5 (PS5) is a flagship 2,481 MW combined cycle natural gas power plant. The balance of plant (BOP) scope delivered mechanical erection and electrical works across the facility, supporting both the initial 1,792 MW baseline configuration—comprising three GE 9HA gas turbines, three steam turbines, and three heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs)—and the 680.9 MW Block 4 expansion featuring a hydrogen-ready Mitsubishi Power M701JAC turbine.
